Merav Goldman was born in Israel in 1987 and began playing the horn at the age of 10. During the army she was a member of the IDF orchestra. Merav studied with Mr. Yoel Abadi during her bachelor’s degree at the Buchmann-Mehta school of music. Currently she is completing her Master’s degree studies with Mr. Philip at Mannes College, New York. She has participated in Masterclasses with many leading horn players including Marie-Luise Neunecker and Dale Clevenger. At the Buchmann-Mehta school of music, she won twice the 2nd prize in the chamber music competition as well as the 3rd prize in the solo competition. She performed with the Israeli Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony, and was a member of the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion between the years of 2009- 2012. Last May she joined the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra conducted by Maestro Daniel Barenboin and recently she was invited to perform in Rolandseck Chamber Music Festival. Among the conductors she worked with; Zubin Mehta, Gustavo Dudamel and Kurt Masur. Merav is an “America-Israel Cultural Foundation” scholarship winner since 1999.
